RETIRED & SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) empowers individuals, ages 55 and over, to share their knowledge, skills, and life experience through volunteer service. In doing so, RSVP supports nonprofit groups and agencies requiring volunteer staffing, and by creating partnerships to help other groups and agencies to address unmet community needs.

Over 400 volunteers donate more than 10,000 hours per month in Cleveland and McClain counties. Pottawatomie County’s 240 volunteers provided 26,353 hours in 2006. The Meals on Wheels program provided 9,248 meals. The Shoes that Fit program provided 232 pairs of shoes and 464 pairs of socks to needy children in Pottawatomie and Seminole counties.
