Oklahoma Department of Commerce's Rx for Oklahoma, is a prescription assistance program developed to help individuals that are uninsured or under-insured. The program is administered by Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency in Cleveland, Lincoln, Logan, Payne, Pottawatomie, and Seminole counties. COCAA's friendly staff assists with the process of applying to pharmaceutical manufacturers to obtain medication at a reduced cost or no cost.

In 2009, Rx for Oklahoma added 397 new clients and saved the clients $418,389 in prescription drug costs.

In tears and with nowhere else to turn, after depleting his savings purchasing monthly medications for his mother and father, the man came to Rx for Oklahoma for help. Though his parents' health was grave, he could no longer afford their medications. Rx for Oklahoma was able to save him $330 on one medication and over $1,700 per month. Crying then from happiness, he left our office.
